IN LIEU OF UPLIFTING SERMON
One day a farmer's donkey fell down into a well. The animal cried
piteously for hours as the farmer tried to figure out what to do. Finally he decided the animal was old, and the well needed to be covered up anyway, and...well, it just wasn't worth it to retrieve the donkey.
He invited all of his neighbors to come over and help him. They each grabbed a shovel and began to shovel dirt into the well to cover the donkey. At first, the donkey realized what was happening and cried horribly.
Then, to everyone's amazement, he quieted down. A few shovel loads later, the farmer looked down the well, and was astonished at what he saw: as every shovel of dirt hit his back, the donkey would shake it off and take a step up. As the farmer's neighbors continued to shovel dirt on top of the animal, he would continue to shake it off and would take another step up.
Pretty soon, everyone was amazed, as the donkey stepped up and out, over the edge of the well and trotted off.
The Moral:
Life is going to shovel dirt on you, all kinds of dirt. The trick to getting out of your well is to shake off that dirt and take a step up. Each of our troubles is a stepping stone. We can get out of the deepest wells just by not stopping, by never giving up!
Shake it off and take a step up!
Remember the five simple rules to be happy:

The donkey later came back, caught the farmer out in his field and kicked the crap out of him. Then he went over to each of the neighbors' farms and kicked the crap out of them, too for helping the farmer.

My friend Sam works in Washington DC for the govt and has therefore plenty of time to do little so he sent me his peace plan. Here it is:
"1. The United States will apologize to the world for our "interference" in their affairs, past and present. You know -- Hitler, Mussolini, Tojo, Noriega, Milosovich and the rest of those 'good ole boys.' We will never, ever "interfere" again.
2. We will withdraw our troops from all over the world, starting with Germany, South Korea and the Philippines. They don't want us there. Instead, we would station troops at our own borders. (Can't have any one sneaking through holes in our fence.)
3. All illegal aliens would have 90 days to get their affairs together and leave. We'll even give them a free trip "home"? After 90 days the remainder will be gathered up and deported immediately, regardless of who or where they are. I'm sure France would welcome them.
4. All future "guests" will be photographed and fingerprinted and limited to a 90 day visit unless given a special permit. No one from any nation supporting terrorism would be allowed to enter. If you don't like it there, change it yourself and don't hide here. Political asylum or just plain "asylum" would never be available to anyone, again. As harsh as it seems, we really don't need any more cab drivers or 7-11 cashiers.
5. No "students" over the age of 21. The older ones are the bombers. (Just look at 9/11.) If they don't attend classes, they get a "D" and it's back to the motherland, baby.
6. The United States will make a strong effort to become "energy" self-sufficient. This will include developing non-polluting sources of energy but will require a temporary drilling of oil in the Alaskan wilderness. The caribou will have to cope for a while. (Actually, the ANWR Reserve is called a "Reserve" because it was set aside for drilling. Don't be fooled by the media hype. ANWR is home to nothing except frozen, but ugly tundra.)
7. Offer Saudi Arabia and other oil producing countries $10 a barrel for their oil. If they don't like it, we go some place else. They can go somewhere else to sell their production. (About a week of the wells filling up the storage sites should be enough.)
8. If there is a famine or other natural catastrophe in the world, consistent with our earlier declaration, we will not "interfere." They can pray to Allah or whomever, for seeds, rain, cement or whatever they need. Besides most of what we give these despotic regimes is stolen or given to the army. The people who need it most get very little, if anything.
9. Ship the United Nations Headquarters to an isolated island some place. We don't need the spies and fair weather friends here. Besides, the building would make a good homeless shelter or lockup for illegal aliens.
10. All Americans must go to charm and beauty school. That way, no one can call us "Ugly Americans" any longer.
Now, isn't that a winner of a peace plan?"

All we hear is about the Bill of Rights. Why has nobody created a Bill of Responsibilities? This is my feeble attempt at it and I welcome any suggestions to improve it or expand it or correct it.
1. Honor, preserve and understand the Constitution of the United States.
2. You have the right to express your opinions, but you do not have the right to be wrong about the facts they are based upon .
3. Have faith in yourself, your community and your country.
4. The price of freedom is the willingness to accept responsibilities. This price must be paid by each of us. It is not something that someone else can pay for you. If you are relieved of your responsibilities, you lose your freedom and liberty. Be aware of government offering to relieve you of your responsibilities.
5. You can not have freedom and liberty unless you are willing to give it to others.
6. Exercise your right to vote. Bad politicians are elected by good citizens who do not vote.
7.An adult who begets and/or raises children shall provide for them, and shall be responsible to ensure that their actions do not impinge upon the rights and well-beings of others.
8. What you have taught your children to do for themselves is more important than what you do for them
9.You have the right to believe and do anything you wish, provided it does not interfere with anyone else's right to believe and do what they wish.

HERE IS SOMETHING POSITIVE FOR METRO HOUSTON
For the past 48 years I have been an active, alas seldom-successful participant in the Houston rail debate. Several times over the years I was able to propose the usage of Monorail as a viable alternative. This time I will not point to hidden deals, insider agendas, conspiracies and other negative aspects of proposals and counter proposals now being debated. Instead I will demonstrate that an obvious solution is being ignored by all concerned. This solution is now known and is being considered, and adopted in other locations. It is the FAT Corridor concept that is perfect for the Katy Freeway and other freeways with HOV lines.
FAT or Free Transit And Tolled Highway concept is simple. Charge anyone who wants to drive the tollway and use the money to provide free transit for those who ride the train. This is the highest and best use of the transit corridor by utilizing the airspace; reducing vehicle traffic and promoting train ridership,
Financing could be provided by the private sector with some Federal Highway Administration assistance. After all, transit is now recognized as an amenity because there is NO TRANSIT SYTEM IN EXISTENCE IN THE US THAT CAN OPERATE WITHOUT TAXPAYER ASSISTANCE.
A typical 8 lane congested highway now carries 20,240 people/hour. A FAT corridor of eight lanes and a double elevated guideway would carry 60,240 people/hour. This concept will attract riders because it is free; it is economically sound, environmentally desirable and politically achievable. It would put an end to the present disingenuous policy of “attracting” riders while increasing their fares, as if any fare increase would have a meaningful reduction in the necessity of taxpayer assistance.
The FAT concept has been introduced to the United States by Thomas H. Hopkins, an Australian who believes that a nationwide high-speed Monorail grid could replace our congested highways and airways at minimum cost, by using air space over our highways.
High speed Monorail has been designed here in Houston 47 years ago. It does not copy the coach design of heavy railway cars as other Monorail systems do, but it is designed as the body of an airplane. Since it does not depend on gravity for safety it can be light. Being light it does not need long breaking distances and can be operated on tight headways even at the higher speeds it travels compared to “light” rail. The most important aspect, however, is that being light, it does not require the atrocious costs necessary to lift “light” or heavy rail above ground level. “Light” rail is heavier than “heavy” rail. It is called “light” to dupe people into believing it is somehow more wholesome than “heavy” rail.
The solution is therefore obvious. Allow METRO, or the private sector to use the air space above the toll lanes. Allow the private sector to bid on a combined solution of free transit and toll road. Allow the toll revenues to support the transit rides and combination toll and transit bonds would be best sellers. For those who want to learn more about this ingenious plan I recommend that you read Mr. Hopkins’ paper at http://highspeedmonorail.com/G4paper121301.pdf. Unlike others, I do not expect to profit by this proposal. The Monorail System I represented for more than 40 years has run out of soldiers to fight for it. We lost our battles but hopefully Mr. Hopkins and others will carry on until we can finally dismount from riding the dead horse of 19th Century rail.

THE METRO FARCE - LOOKING BEYOND BUSSES AND RAIL
For decades we ignored the most important issue facing any mobility plan in Houston. How do we make people use the bus, the trolley, or the train? How do we get them out of the car? We are already paying more than 80% of the operating cost of the busses, so why can’t we or won’t we ride it? Because we are still pretending that transit is not an amenity, but some kind of business operating according to accepted business principles. Sooner we admit that the emperor has no clothes, sooner we will find the obvious solution.
For years former METRO Board Member Louis Macey has advocated that bus rides should be free. As it is METRO collects less than 20¢ from fares out of every dollar spent to run the busses and will collect even less on the train rides. We always felt that by offering free rides the busses would finally fill up and more people would leave their cars home.
We had proof when METRO offered temporary free rides during the summer months. Ridership doubled, but the increase did not last, nor did it induce many to permanently switch to the bus system. They knew that after a few weeks the free rides would terminate so there was no incentive to change transportation habits, give up car pools or sell the second car.
We are told that for security reasons METRO can not offer free rides because homeless people would inundate busses if the rides were free. They would take up residence on the busses. Air-conditioned in summer and nice and warm in winter. This is a point well taken and hard to argue against.
There is, however, a well-kept secret by the transit industry. They know that there is a city of 100,000 residents where 60,000 have city bus passes and use the bus. The city solved the security problem of freeloaders by selling passes to everyone. Businesses, hospitals, universities, apartment projects, residential subdivisions all buy annual passes for their employees or residents. The cost is $50 per year.
The bus pass is designed like group medical insurance except it is for transit and not medical treatment. Everybody has to pay. Some use it a lot; some use it on occasion only. Those who don't use it help pay for those who do. Everybody, however, has the choice of an unlimited bus pass.
As you can imagine the results are miraculous. The busses are running full and the bus stops are located where the people actually are. The input by passengers has been so constructive that bus sizes, seating, even the sound systems are passenger oriented. The bureaucracy serves the people not the other way around.
So the next time you hear METRO boast about on time arrivals, cost of maintenance or the percentage of operating costs paid by fare collection - just ask one question: why are the busses running empty? In Houston we are already paying for bus service, whether we ride the bus or not, through the sales tax. Why not sell annual buss passes for $50 and let people use what they are already paying for?

Freedom – responsibility = Anarchy
They rioted when they were free to do so. “How can they be so ungrateful?” was heard throughout the land. Are we talking about the Jews after they were freed from Egyptian servitude? Is it the anti-war protesters and their violent demonstrations in our major cities? Is it Iraqi Shiites in their religious frenzy? It is all of them plus the Hungarian Refugees after the 1956 Hungarian Revolution.
The example of this small Hungarian group best explains what happens when freedom is thrust upon people, without educating them about the responsibility that makes freedom possible.
First a brief recall of events. In October of 1956 Hungarians revolted against the Russian occupation of their country. Encouraged by a barrage of exhorting messages from America through Radio Free Europe, Hungarian patriots drove out the Russians from Budapest. For about 10 days Hungary was free, but then became the victim of US politics.
With the November 4th presidential elections just a few days away, Washington kept silent not wanting to risk possible negative reaction from the voters. Not a single word of approval, or assistance, or support came from either Washington, or from the UN. The Russians thus were given the green light to brutally crush the revolution with the tacit approval of Washington. Massed Russian tanks attacked and stomped out the revolt on Election Day.
Betrayed and confused more than 200,000 Hungarians fled their country seeking refuge in the West. Thousands were allowed to emigrate to the US and arrived at Camp Kilmer, New Jersey. The outpouring of help from the public reflected the desire of the people of this country to compensate for the betrayal by politicians.
In Houston a group of former Hungarians volunteered and we organized the Hungarian Rehabilitation Board to assist the newcomers. Bill Schindler of Hurrican Fence Co., who passed away this week, offered jobs to a group of young Hungarian men. The company arranged for apartments, provided furniture and offered to train them for a well paying job. Since none of them spoke English, the newcomers had to rely on us old-timers to interpret for them and to advise them.
Over and over we told them: “You are free.“ Little did we realize that the words were meaningless. Most of these Hungarians came from a world where every step of their life was regulated. They had to make no decisions before, because everything was decided for them. Their work, their education, their activities were controlled by the State or the Party. They had no choices except to follow orders. It was their way of life.
Suddenly they were free. Now they had to make all the decisions. They could not learn from the world around them because they did not speak the language.
When the Board realized that such unrestricted freedom would lead to problems, we tried to set up programs to explain the responsibilities created by credit, employment, legal and other issues. At a meeting when the proposed responsibilities were discussed, a group of Hungarian refugees attending chanted and demonstrated against the proposed program. They were free and needed no explanation of responsibilities.
Freedom without responsibility had its consequences. Many ruined their employment records when they abandoned job after job because someone offered them 10¢ more per hour. They ruined their credit because after months of a wild purchasing spree their monthly obligations far exceeded their income. Suicides, divorces and returns to Hungary were the only escapes for some.
One refugee proudly informed me that he opened a Hungarian Restaurant and invited me to the opening. He was proud of the location. After all it was on Broadway. Except this Broadway was in Houston not in New York. He opened a fully equipped Hungarian Restaurant serving Hungarian specialties. The bank financed all his fixtures and equipment. He lasted 2 weeks before abandoning the place. Not before, however, he sold all the fixtures and furniture. He did not even know what a lien was.
For some it took years to learn that freedom carried with it responsibilities and after they found out the hard way, they became valuable and responsible members of our community.
The Iraqi masses are told they are free. Just as the Hungarian Refugees of Houston, there is nobody to explain to them or force upon them the responsibilities of freedom. Neighbors in the Middle East are not the best examples of civic responsibilities.
How can we expect them to learn in a brief period that takes most of us all of our teen-age years to comprehend? How long can we allow this maturing period to last? If they can not agree how to rule themselves, someone must rule them. Order must prevail if society itself is not to perish.
When Julius Caesar stood at the shores of the Rubicon, he was reluctant to break his agreement not to cross the Rubicon with his powerful army and allow Rome to rule itself. When Rome sank into anarchy he had to save it from self-destruction and assume power. Our question is how long do we wait and allow anarchy to take over, before we assume power and teach Iraqi society the meaning of responsibility?
Or would we again meekly stand by and do nothing for domestic political reasons and allow freedom to be crushed by the forces of anarchy?

The war in Iraq was intended to mark the official emergence of the United States as a full-fledged global empire, seizing sole responsibility and authority as planetary policeman. It would be the culmination of a plan 10 years or more in the making, carried out by those who believe the United States must seize the opportunity for global domination, even if it means becoming the "American imperialists" that our enemies always claimed we were.
Once that is understood, other mysteries solve themselves. For example, why was the administration unconcerned about an exit strategy from Iraq once Saddam is toppled?
Because we won't be leaving. Having conquered Iraq, the United States will create permanent military bases in that country from which to dominate the Middle East, including neighboring Iran.
Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld often stated that the United States does not covet other nations' territory. That may be true, but 58 years after World War II ended, we still have major bases in Germany and Japan. We will do the same in Iraq.
And why has the administration dismissed the option of containing and deterring Iraq, as we had the Soviet Union for 45 years? Because even if it worked, containment and deterrence would not allow the expansion of American power. Besides, they are beneath us as an empire. Rome did not stoop to containment; it conquered. And so should we.
Among the architects of this would-be American Empire are a group of brilliant and powerful people who hold key positions in the Bush administration: They envision the creation and enforcement of what they call a worldwide "Pax Americana," or American peace. But so far, the American people have not appreciated the true extent of that ambition.
Part of it's laid out in the National Security Strategy, a document in which each administration outlines its approach to defending the country. The Bush administration plan marks a significant departure from previous approaches, a change that it attributes largely to the attacks of Sept. 11.
To address the terrorism threat, the president's reports and speeches laid out a newly aggressive military and foreign policy, embracing pre-emptive attack against perceived enemies. It speaks in blunt terms of what it calls "American internationalism," of ignoring international opinion if that suits U.S. interests. "The best defense is a good offense," the document asserts.
It dismisses deterrence as a Cold War relic and instead talks of "convincing or compelling states to accept their sovereign responsibilities."
In essence, it lays out a plan for permanent U.S. military and economic domination of every region on the globe, unfettered by international treaty or concern. And to make that plan a reality, it envisions a stark expansion of our global military presence.
"The United States will require bases and stations within and beyond Western Europe and Northeast Asia," the document warns, "as well as temporary access arrangements for the long-distance deployment of U.S. troops."
The report's repeated references to terrorism are misleading, however, because the approach of the new National Security Strategy was clearly not inspired by the events of Sept. 11. They can be found in much the same language in a report issued in September 2000 by the Project for the New American Century, a group of conservative interventionists outraged by the thought that the United States might be forfeiting its chance at a global empire.
"At no time in history has the international security order been as conducive to American interests and ideals," the report said. "The challenge of this coming century is to preserve and enhance this 'American peace.' "
Overall, that 2000 report reads like a blueprint for current Bush defense policy. Most of what it advocates, the Bush administration has tried to accomplish. For example, the project report urged the repudiation of the anti-ballistic missile treaty and a commitment to a global missile defense system. The administration has taken that course.
It advocates the "transformation" of the U.S. military to meet its expanded obligations, including the cancellation of such outmoded defense programs as the Crusader artillery system.
It urges the development of small nuclear warheads "required in targeting the very deep, underground hardened bunkers that are being built by many of our potential adversaries."
That close tracking of recommendation with current policy is hardly surprising, given the current positions of the people who contributed to the 2000 report.
Paul Wolfowitz is now deputy defense secretary. John Bolton is undersecretary of state. Stephen Cambone is head of the Pentagon's Office of Program, Analysis and Evaluation. Eliot Cohen and Devon Cross are members of the Defense Policy Board, which advises Rumsfeld. I. Lewis Libby is chief of staff to Vice President Dick Cheney. Dov Zakheim is comptroller for the Defense Department.
Because they were still just private citizens in 2000, the authors of the project report could be more frank and less diplomatic than they were in drafting the National Security Strategy. Back in 2000, they clearly identified Iran, Iraq and North Korea as primary short-term targets, well before President Bush tagged them as the Axis of Evil. In their report, they criticize the fact that in war planning against North Korea and Iraq, "past Pentagon wargames have given little or no consideration to the force requirements necessary not only to defeat an attack but to remove these regimes from power."
To preserve the Pax Americana, the report says U.S. forces will be required to perform "constabulary duties" -- the United States acting as policeman of the world -- and says that such actions "demand American political leadership rather than that of the United Nations."
To meet those responsibilities, and to ensure that no country dares to challenge the United States, the report advocates a much larger military presence spread over more of the globe, in addition to the roughly 130 nations in which U.S. troops are already deployed.
More specifically, they argue that we need permanent military bases in the Middle East, in Southeast Europe, in Latin America and in Southeast Asia, where no such bases now exist. That helps to explain another of the mysteries of our post-Sept. 11 reaction, in which the Bush administration rushed to install U.S. troops in Georgia and the Philippines, as well as our eagerness to send military advisers to assist in the civil war in Colombia.
The 2000 report directly acknowledges its debt to a still earlier document, drafted in 1992 by the Defense Department. That document had also envisioned the United States as a colossus astride the world, imposing its will and keeping world peace through military and economic power. When leaked in final draft form, however, the proposal drew so much criticism that it was hastily withdrawn and repudiated by the first President Bush.
The defense secretary in 1992 was Richard Cheney; the document was drafted by Wolfowitz, who at the time was defense undersecretary for policy.
The potential implications of a Pax Americana are immense.
One is the effect on our allies. Once we assert the unilateral right to act as the world's policeman, our allies will quickly recede into the background. Eventually, we will be forced to spend American wealth and American blood protecting the peace while other nations redirect their wealth to such things as health care for their citizenry.
Donald Kagan, a professor of classical Greek history at Yale and an influential advocate of a more aggressive foreign policy -- he served as co-chairman of the 2000 New Century project -- acknowledges that likelihood.
"If [our allies] want a free ride, and they probably will, we can't stop that," he says. But he also argues that the United States, given its unique position, has no choice but to act anyway.
"You saw the movie 'High Noon'? he asks. "We're Gary Cooper."
Accepting the Cooper role would be an historic change in who we are as a nation, and in how we operate in the international arena. Candidate Bush certainly did not campaign on such a change. It is not something that he or others have dared to discuss with the American people. To the contrary, in his foreign policy debate with Al Gore, Bush pointedly advocated a more humble foreign policy, a position calculated to appeal to voters leery of military intervention.
For the same reason, Kagan and others shy away from terms such as empire, understanding its connotations. But they also argue that it would be naive and dangerous to reject the role that history has thrust upon us. Kagan, for example, willingly embraces the idea that the United States would establish permanent military bases in a post-war Iraq.
The lure of empire is ancient and powerful, and over the millennia it has driven men to commit terrible crimes on its behalf. But with the end of the Cold War and the disappearance of the Soviet Union, a global empire was essentially laid at the feet of the United States. To the chagrin of some, we did not seize it at the time, in large part because the American people have never been comfortable with themselves as a New Rome.
Are peace and security best achieved by seeking strong alliances and international consensus, led by the United States? Or is it necessary to take a more unilateral approach, accepting and enhancing the global dominance that, according to some, history has thrust upon us?
If we do decide to seize empire, we should make that decision knowingly, as a democracy. The price of maintaining an empire is always high. On the other hand that the price of rejecting it would be higher still.
That's what this is about. But for years it had to be hidden from you for good reasons. Because you may be the 5% which has read the THE RISE AND FALL OF THE ROMAN EMPIRE or in the alternative belong to the 30% who can't read or write, the 35% who don't care and the 30% who are part of a lunatic fringe.

THE JOBLESS
I found an interesting record of which industries are firing and which are hiring since 2001. Industries that are firing are computer and electronics manufacturing, telecom service providers, car, aircraft, boat manufacturers, transportation and warehousing and retailers. Hiring are restaurants, schools, banks and hospitals.
I can see that manufacturing jobs moved overseas because it costs a lot less to produce when not faced with high wages, unions, regulators and trial lawyers.

Learn the Socratic method of dealing with major issues of your life. Ask questions. It may make some people unhappy if they are forced to provide facts to back up their opinions but many times you will find that their opinions are based on the perception of facts rather than the facts themselves.
The end result: other person's erroneous opinions based on their perception of facts could be controlling your life and your decisions. We all have the right to have our opinions, but we do not have the right to be wrong about the facts that formed those opinions.

Holocaust Dejavu
...Holocaust survivors are to receive $2,500 for their labor and suffering from a group of German Industrialists. Lawyers and Jewish Charitable organizations are deliberately delaying payments from this multibillion fund because every day more and more of the survivors pass away and are no longer entitled to the money. It goes to the charities who will spend it on remembering their memory and to the law firms who coerced the Germans to pay them hundreds of millions in fees. US CITIZENSHIP
What was once a most desired and illustrious citizenship has become a laughingstock due to manipulations by power hungry politicians. In the 1950s a Communist member of Congress, Vito Marcantonio, representing Harlem in New York was continuosly re-elected. Before every election he would import thousands of Puerto Ricans to Harlem. They came by the plane load for several months. They were put up into slum apartments with as many as 6 to a room and they were put instantly on the welfare rolls. They had to pay back out of welfare the cost of the airplane fare and the apartment rent. All they had to do is to vote for him on election day. Marcantonio was a Democrat who professed openly to be a communist.
50 years later the game plan has been enlarged. Anyone coming across the border can get a driver's license and is entitled at the same time to fill out a Voter's Registration application. It is ILLEGAL for anyone to question if the applicant is a citizen or not and it is ILLEGAL to question the voter on election day if he is a citizen. All this thanks to the Motor Voter Registration scam installed before the 1996 presidential elections.
Some of the 9/11 terrorists had voter registration cards and voted although they were not citizens.
The prostitution of the value of American Citizenship is a sure sign of the decline and eventual fall of this country.

Criminal Justice?
It used to be "innocent until found guilty" but now it has changed to "guilty until funded innocent". We no longer have any safeguards to protect the innocent citizen from abuse by law enforcement and conviction by the justice system. The Grand Jury is no longer a shield that can protect the innocent. The District Attorneys can legally lie, misrepresent, withhold evidence, submit false evidence and the assets, money and valuables of an accused can be confiscated before any
due process occurs or the accused can face his accusers, or know what he is accused of. Deprived of his money and assets he can no get a lawyer unless he is very rich and can hire a lawyer who knows how corrupt the system is and use its corruption to free his client.
Fabricated forensic evidence has been the norm rather than the exception. Forensic science has been prostituted to be used only to convict the accused and not to prove him innocent. Anyone can be indicted at any time by deaf and dumb grand juries and as a result thousands of innocent people are occupying expensive prison space providing contracts, salaries to millions of administrators, politicians and ther cronies.

The Senate
The Senate wants to approve every special ops action by our military services. Say if our special ops men spot Osama Bin Laden moving between caves they could no longer attack him with on the scene commandos. They would need to contact the Pentagon, which would need to obtain a Presidential directive. The President would have to contact the House and Senate Intelligence Committees and have their Chairmen approve the action. Luckily in this world of fast communication this could be accomplished in several days and we can always hope that Osama will wait long enough between caves to accommodate the power hungry idiots in the US Senate. This provision is part of the 2004 intelligence authorization bill. Have you had enough yet?
The Environmental Nuts
Our military is unable to train under real battle conditions because the Environmental Nuts are in courts prohibiting them from disturbing the one-inch long Pacific pocket mouse or disturbing resting sea lions. We cannot deploy an up to date sonar system to detect enemy submarines because the sonar may bother one of over 100,000 sea mammals. They would prefer that we lose our submarines and get our seamen killed by an undetected enemy rather than wake up a snoozing seal. These people are not of good will but enemies of this nation. Environmental Laws shall be suspended during a war for our military. What court do the Environmentalist nuts go to sue terrorists when they pollute the globe? Have you had enough yet?
The Charities
The American people are suckers for a good cause. Our consciences are satisfied when we give money to a charity. Congress has mandated that a charitable organization must give at least 5 cents of every dollar of their assets to a real charitable cause. What they have done is to call salaries and goodies given to their executives as a charitable donation to qualify for the 5 cents mandated by an incredibly naïve Congress. Tort Reform
Insurance premiums are rising, doctors are closing down, trial lawyers collecting billions, the economy struggles, business is leaving for places without trial lawyers and lower costs and jobs go overseas, politicians and judges get corrupted by large campaign donations, legislatures are dominated by lawyers, class action becomes a tolerated fraud enriching all lawyers, greed rules unchecked.
